Red2Green joins launch of the Opportunities Trust
Improving the choice of support for people with disabilities or mental
health problems in Cambridgeshire was put centre stage today (10
November) at the launch of a ground-breaking new organisation.
Red2Green has joined forces with others to set up The Opportunities
Trust, the first organisation in the UK to be developed to look
specifically at the range and quality of support being provided to
adults with disabilities.
The photo shows Andrew Gardner (centre) signing up Headway Cambridgeshire as the first organisation to join the Opportunities Trust. Also in the photo (left to right) Samantha Sherratt (Co-chair of the Opportunities Trust), Mark Briggs (Vice Chair of the Opportunities Trust), Christine Fraser (Development officer, Opportunities Trust) and Helena Harris (Co-chair, Opportunities Trust).
Red2Green encourages pre-Christmas clear-out
The public is being encouraged to do a pre-Christmas clear-out and bring their unwanted items
into the Cambridge Online Auction Shop. At the Cambridge Online Auction Shop, learners with
disabilities auction items on eBay for members of the public while also learning retail skills
to prepare themselves for employment. The Auction Shop is holding an open day on Saturday 8th
November to welcome customers to its new premises on Newmarket Road.
Big boost from Norwich and Peterborough Building Society
Red2Green has received a fantastic £12,000 donation from Norwich and Peterborough Building Society.
Norwich and Peterborough, which opened its second branch in Cambridge earlier this year, offered
to help Red2Greenhouse improve its facilities, and the donation means we can extend the project's existing
classroom and improve storage facilities. Building work started on Monday 27 October, and is due to complete
before Christmas. Thank you N&P!

Reboot finds new home with a new charity
As of 1 December, Reboot, the computer refurbishing project, will be under the wing of Advice for Life.
Reboot dovetails well into Advice for Life's social enterprise division, sitting alongside its i-TRUST project
offering technical support and ICT advice to charities and not-for-profit organisations. The switch
in ownership coincides with new premises for Reboot, and it has now moved into Eastern Court on Newmarket Road.
Red2Green wishes Reboot well and we look forward to following its achievements over the coming years.

Special day promotes people with disabilities in the workplace
Red2Green and other charities from across Cambridgeshire are hosting a special day of activities on
Friday 17th October to showcase the contribution that people with disabilities and mental health
difficulties can bring to the workplace. Charities in the Social Training Enterprises Group (STEnG)
are holding two events on the 17th, the first being a business breakfast at 7.30, with the wider
public then invited from 10.30am to celebrate the achievements of STEnG learners and learn of

Big volunteer 'thank you'
During Volunteers Week (1-7 June) a burst of activity took place across
Red2Green to say a big thank you to all our fantastic volunteers. We
held a series of events within each of our projects, and every volunteer
was presented with a certificate and a specially commissioned 'Red2Green
star volunteer' keyring. We also launched our first edition of
Volunteer News, profiling our star volunteers, promoting volunteering
vacancies and offering accreditation opportunities as well as news from
within the organisation itself.
